Dinner & Dance @ Chijmes

No. The stinky babies has nothing to do with my dinner and dance.
*grin*

it's just that these snap shots i took *esp the one peeking out of the hse* looks extremely adorable so i thought, why not start the entry with cute pictures first?

Recently I've decided to use flash (minimized) although i quite anti-flash sometimes but the pics did turn out much much better (stupid me). plus bcos i'm using flash i can then set my digital camera to be in manual mode and in turn tune up the camera speed. it helps alot since my stinkies moves ard rather quickly. auto mode causes just too much shakes. now i utilise the white balance function it helped alot too. if not all my previous pictures always either abit blue or abit yellow. never quite depicting the actual colour itself. tsk. i'm alit cranky sometimes. i absolutely refuse to use certain features for unknown reasons. obstinate for no cause. lol but i got to learn about the need for white balance only because of my camera (DV Cam) training at work. holding a dv cam is no easy feat. it's so blardi heavy can!? imagine those on the run those poor cameraman on discovery channel kena chase by elephant or something. biceps, triceps and wadever all the muscles sure damn big. ok enough of technical talks.

Here I present to you.... my STINKY BABIES!

I've recently bought them 3 new items!

1. A new house for the stinkies (previously we have a wooden straw hut) but i guess we're being a lil unfair to have both hammies fight for the hut so we decideded to get a second one! now one for each!

2. A new wheel. the old one has to go. it's creaky, it's broke, and .. yea.

3. A new sandbox! previously we used bowl. hammies like to ROLL AND KICK the sand ALL OVER. -_- very bad. so bought a sandbox. at least it's more contained this way.

hammie peeks!concussnew sandbox!

sleeping stinky babies
so cute right? this is actually the top view of the new wooden house. (roof can take out one bwahaha)

A night of "Glittering Affair"... or so to speak.

I must say I'm really surprised by many things.
First I thought the place where we had our dinner and dance was pretty cool.
The food wasn't too bad except they didn't ask me if I wanted my beef steak well done or medium rare etc. O_O

Then everyone looked.. so stylish. lol. yes.. even the bosses! I guess that's what you expect from the industry. Everyone's fashionable in a way or another. some even look like maciam hong kong movie star *lol* at least it's not the all typical shirt n blazer n pants only for all the guys. some wore v-neck with jeans and a scarf *lol* and a nice retro glasses, some wore tshirts with a blazer over and jeans.. etc etc.

the ladies... haha speechless la. most of them went to salons to do up their hair during lunch. lol
i simply clipped them up myself at home.

The host was great and humorous cos he managed to get the crowd's attention and participation and everyone was laughing along. the games were quite funny as well. we even had a ventriloquist performing! quite interesting.

There were the glam shots corner where professionals were hired to help everyone take as many glam shots as they wish lol and there was an artist helping ppl draw caricatures (however u spell it) and also a tarot card reader. I took only one "glam shot" with a colleague.

I didn't take alot of pictures. but here's a few.

i wasn't really sitting where i'd rather be seating so.. haha those ppl i wanna take pic weren't really within reach. i had to go over to take this group shot with them. pity.

group pic 1group pic 2
glam shotme n yee lin

a night to remember with many weird experiences I suppose.
One that unsettles me in many ways.
And also to be dragged out to dance with the most unexpected person was nerve-wrecking lol.
I was so looking for a hole to stuff my head in.

i didn't have a single drop of alcohol that night since they were serving wine and i don't really like wine. so i was still pretty much 'restrained' and less relaxed so on the dance flr, i was pretty useless lol. left the place once i could and didn't know till today that the rest left for drinks @ clarke quay that night after the dinner and dance. oh well, i probably couldn't join them anyway since gu's waiting for me at home. i took quite awhile waiting for a cab and end up.. none turned up (stupid asses all waiting to appear only after midnight to fetch that midnight surchage.. bastards!) and so i caught my last bus and just simply took a bus home instead.

It's been a great long while since I updated much about anything.

After much determination and riskin my butt by watchin even during work, during lunch, and after work, I finally finished watching blood+!!! all 50 episodes of them! nearly died. eyeball pop out or something.

all the while i've much preferred a romance between Saya (leading character) and Haji (her servant aka chevalier) and so all these while i was pinning my hopes to seeing some sort of romantic scene somewhere with those all so typical love proclaimation stuff BUT no, creator of anime has to play a cruel joke on me. make me watch all 50 eps before i reach a 10 sec + worth of not that great kissing scene cos shadowed bo? WAH LAAAAAAAAAN! and then fake death with bombing incident for Haji bo!? WAH LAAAAAAAAAN!

*curse somemore*

HENG.. in the end, both nvr die. HENG OK. i tot fuck, after 50 eps both the characters i like mati or something.

hahahah think i'll be gettin the anime.

then make me tempted to watch Blood the last Vampire movie too. but i don't see much availability on youtube. haiz.

i intend to invade my work place soon with more photos. soon. after i developed them. like maybe .. half a year later HURHUR. anyway..

guess sometimes workplace abit unpredictable. all those taichi and work politics. i much prefer staying as low profile as possible and keeping everything as black and white as possible but alas, there's still limitations to my care. my lousy memory. i wonder how ppl expect u to recall something u either said or some brief discussion that went off more than three months ago!? nuts man. SO.. skipping lunch i went to popular bookstore to get a notebook. to pen dwn all that was discussed during meetings involving either me or my dept basically. black and white yea? or rather.. protective measures lah yea?

but as usual i never quite allowed these work unpleasant moments to affect me. never brought them home to work to dwell about either. life's too short to harp on such things haha

now i'm looking forward to stuff that's coming up. wilson's exams, our buffet sessions, my birthday, botak jones, dinner and dance, christmas, new year, watching new promos... stuff like that makes me happy. oh yes, and watching death note of course.

i wanna watch The Prestige actually. maybe soon. i'll treat wilson to go watch with me or something. then i have lotsa pending stuff to buy. life's exciting if you allow it to be.

hammie sleep
hammie (right) : "hur?"

i'm kinda sad that lately i havent been seeing the kittens at renci. for some reason they have been nowhere in sight. we pretty much searched high and low for them to no avail. however, we did find a mother cat with just about 4 new born kittens! they look so small i think they just sprouted fur not long. eyes barely open. then it was pouring so the cat and its litter took shelter under a tree gaining some shelter frm leaves above.

in memory of the two miumius.

miumiu

gu say perhaps someone took them away. i've grown pretty attached to them so i'm rather sad not seeing them where i always do.i miss hugging the kitten.

my first trip to Vivocity was pretty exciting. havent been to the harbour front area yet. the shopping mall is HUGE i say! lotsa new shops and brands that's not even seen in orchard! will go there once more some other time. wilson say i looked very bubbly when i'm excited.

over the weekend kor brought us out for dinner at bt timah area. initally we wanted to try seafood @ Greenwood Fish ( 34 Greenwood Avenue) but forgot to make reservations. walked all the way in frm 6th Ave. how sad. i was pretty hungry at that point in time. i'm no fan of seafood and for those close to me would've known i don't fancy fish. but if it's fried i can try lah. kor forgot i don't eat fish see? so he brought me there but i must say i think the seafood there are very fresh because although i'm standing just beside their cooking area where all the seafood are displayed out and you can imagine what kinda fishy smell there is, i didn't feel too bad. at least not nauseaus or something. it smelt like sashimi hahaha perhaps nxt time we'll remember to make reservations first.

it was gettin dark and the thought of having to walk all the way back out was a little daunting. i was hungry and lazy then i spotted a pizzeria. their pizza were HUGE!! for the family sized one that is. so we had pizza and pasta in this place called Peperoni pizzeria (6 Greenwood Avenue, Hillcrest Park) instead

pizza

followed by desserts @ corduroy cafe (they have an outlet in vivocity as well). too much indulgence in food, our pockets burnt a hole too.

Post-Holiday Blues

Too much holiday-ing is never good.

It results in post-holiday blues.

I've taken a friday off last week resulting in a long weekend (counting fri, sat n sun) followed by a one day work on monday and yet another holiday on tues (hari raya).

now i'm back to work.

facing the blues.

in truth, work ain't really all blue.
I have another headache going on.
My dinner and dance coming up just NXT FRIDAY.

Dress Code: "Glamorous Evening Wear"

basket.

xxxxxx

anyhow, last night I had a round of pillow talk with my gu.
We were both too hyper still and wasn't able to fall asleep.

It was nice somehow.
Being comfortable lying nxt to my gu hearing him talk in pitch black, I could still feel his warmth cos he's just lying nxt to me. Then promptly falling asleep soon after. Sometime in the midst of our sleep I was briefly roused from sleep but remained still on the bed in a semi-crouch as usual (like a "xiao xia mi" aka small prawn by wilson). Wilson was pulling the blanket covers over my shoulder and so I fell asleep again with the snuggly warmth of the blanket.

Many a times things in life are beyond our control.
When it's time to say goodbye, even if you can't bear to, it may be a choice to return others to their freedom and regain your own...

me n gu went n makan at newton circus again. we simply adore that place.
or then again... it's me la.

this bowl of black pepper chicken rice is quite big as you can see spoon quite small in comparison and it's only $4.50. taste darn gd.

black pepper chicken

then we proceed to ordering zut zut also.
it's like conical shaped.............escargo like slug except it's not escargo lah.
wilson ate quite a bit but got very full soon after then i had to clear the entire place lo!
then tarpow back give dad eat.

dad kena rashes that night.

opps..?

doc banned him frm seafood and red meat for the time being. health issues. tsk tsk.

we love our stinky babies and every weekend we try to give them a bathe cos their fur gets quite ruffled.

this is our relaxed babies after a good shower and one of their fav spots to sleep is on the wheel. don't ask me why.

after so long they've learnt to love each other and stinky now bullies heizai less so we don't hear "ji ji" (squeaks) too often. they even sleep together most of the time.

parallel parking
gu calls this, "parallel parking"

they r really quite fat.

here's an upside dwn shot of heizai nibbling a piece of morsel - honey yogurt drops.

hamster privates!
*nibble nibble*

no.. that's not its privates.

it's the tail.

then our weekly trip to renci and also to the mew mews.

sadly the big mew got trapped in storeroom and was crying out pitifully. we don't have the keys and neither can we break the door dwn. the nurse will open up the storeroom again the nxt morning. previously was the smaller one getting trapped. now it's the bigger one.

seriously i think the smaller one is more cute in terms of character. less strong but more.. affectionate. it likes to snuggle alot. even climbed onto my lap at one point and kept doing so for a few rounds.

i can totally grab the lil head within one grip. pwar.

The fat cat strikes again!

gu: "wah! as big as my tyre"

Ah yes... and the fat cat strikes again. cos i called out for it lol and it decided to follow me again. trailed me all the way to the bike where gu is. so while gu was in a half squat, fat cat kept 'head butting' gu to do the rub head thingy and then rub head butted the bike tyres as well then finally head butted me.

after all the head butting, it flopped *yes, FLOPPED* flat on flr with tummy up for a scratch. i knew it had fleas (cos it's a stray) so i'm abit hesitant about scratching it so i poked its stomach instead. gu used his spannar to rub its tummy LOL

xxxxxxxxx

half asleep gu mumbled "pan cakes" and dozed off again.
so in the morning i woke up and left gu on the bed to continue sleeping.

then i got busy in the kitchen.

not much, but a nice breakfast to begin the day with.

pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, ribena.

after i'm done cooking and laying out the table, i went to the room to pounce on gu.
kissed him all over his face before leaving the room with door ajar and then sat cross legged infront of tv to watch CSI.

around 5 mins later gu came out sleepy eyed and went to kitchen to wash up. then i went to room to tidy up the bed before coming out again to watch CSI.

then i felt a bear hug from behind haha

gu told me he felt xing fu (blessed? fortunate? happiness?) hehehehe

xxxxx

mom bought mooncakes to have us bring over to his house for his folks and a gesture of courtesy.

at renci saw the kittens again.

went to their usual hideouts and then from a distance we spotted them and i called out for them.

"mew mew!"

then to my surprise, seriously, the little ones came running up the stairs and straight to us! then it stopped just infront of wilson! so cool can! i mean they actually responded and recognize us then got so excited and was jumping around our feets. then the bigger one (which i previously posted its picture) was pouncing on our feets. very active and naughty.

its sibling was more meek and submissive and guai.

has this question mark face all the time and will occasionally give out a cute "mew!".

i spent quite some time playing with them and patting their heads.

their ears quite big.

so tempted to bring both home now.

"?"

this picture super cute and act pitiful.

Beaded Cow!

Hee I've grown to like beaded stuff lately and have been lookin out for a good piece to use as a handphone accessory till i saw this beaded cow from MUEE and fell in love with it!

unless u didn't know, everytime i'm near some cow related item i very excited. cos my wilson is nicknamed "GU" by yours truly, me, and THAT'S A COPYRIGHTED NICKNAME K! ONLY I CAN CALL HIM GU! *squints* and so.. this cow was too adorable to give up and he bought it for me! hehehehehehe

he also bought a hp pouch for me since i lost mine.

at first i tot $1.90 cheap cheap so ask him buy for me.
end up is i cock eye.
actually is $7.90!!!!
the printing coloration abit faded... THAT ONE STROKE VERY IMPORTANT K!!!!

so..

end up my poor gu spent quite a bomb. i subsidise $3 out of guilt lol
actually i told him not to buy the hp pouch le. can void transaction one since i havent pay but he lazy. ceh. hahahaha

beaded cow!!! cute pink hoofs!

Within 3 days with the help of the BEADING NEEDLE *finally* and a better knit pattern from the Rainey Sisters, I made my 2nd pouch.

this one is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY smaller and damn cute.

to let you have a better grasp of how small it is, here's a fifty cents coin in the picture for comparative purposes.

small ain't it!?

Beaded knitted amulet pouch

Was as usual reading up on blogs to kill time and as usual, there would be a few selected blogs (not my friends) of which I frequently read up on.

I was reading Wendy Knits when I saw this picture of a beaded knitted amulet pouch and fell so in love with it. there were no patterns given for the design and thus I had no idea how I could've gone about knitting it.

This is the site of whom the pattern truly belongs to.

The Rainey Sisters

so i decided to yahoo it.

and i found a pattern! it doesnt seem to be identical to the one i saw on wendy knits though bearing striking resemblance.

nonetheless after readin through the knit pattern and deems it easy enough a project for me to start on, i starting making preparations for my knitting project.

two more months till christmas but with the amount of pouches i intend to make for those who matters to me... it's not too late to start.

oh yea, before I start, let me share this website i chanced upon. it's damn gd cos it provides VIDEO guide!

Knitting Help

so next time if you're confused over how to do a particular knit/stitch/etc and can't understand what the heck a book with illustrations is tryin to tell u, you can check up from here.

Step 1

Getting the materials.

Went to "Golden Dragon" shop in chinatown and was lookin for a size #0000 needle.
auntie looked at me with a question mark.
ok lah sorry lah auntie, i get from internet they say #0000 ma!
i even surfed the site with my hp and auntie was like "Wah now so hightech save pattern into handphone"

-____-"

then auntie point point abit and left me alone to venture around the store.

wah lau. in the end no help at all can.

nvm at least i know i not suppose to stupidily buy wool. shld be yarn. so i bought special knitting yarn. colours available very limited. so i bo bian chose maroon cos that's the closest colour i can get to match my maroon beads. bleh.

Step 2

Here I realised that this was the most idiotic TEDIOUS step of all.
The beading.

I bought two batches of beads to begin with and was using a tiny thread to thread through all my beads. spent hours doing this. and i have to finish all the beads before i start knitting.

*after notes: after finishing the project then i realised there's such thing called a BEADING NEEDLE. WTF? lol it's a very springy wire made to look like a needle specifically meant for beading. what i spent HOURS AND HOURS on was completed in just one hour after i started using the beading needle for my second project. wah lau!!!!! but anyway, that's wad trial and error is all about.

Step 3

Knit away!

and so i started following the pattern i printed out and knitted away.

half a day later...

one day later...

the back part's not done. hurhur.

notice the clam shell like bottom? thought it was quite cool.

i realised this pattern created a much bigger pouch than what was on shown on The Rainey Sisters.

At that point in time when I checked, there wasn't any free patterns offered for knitting the beaded knitted amulet pouch.

*after notes: after i'm done with my first pouch, the Rainey sisters provided it's patterns
(-__-")

Step 4 and 5

Here with the finishing I have to stitch the pouch together and flip it rightside out and do up a strap for it as well as sewing on a charm for it to keep the flap down.

VOILA!

The pouch is abit bulky lah. not so cute. but my colleague liked it alot so i gave it to her. =D

Yes! and here's the final piece!
A better shot of it, that is. hurhur

knitted beaded amulet pouch

xxxxx

a colleague from another dept bought this hard gay kipatsu.

$50 can!? so expensive... but i heard it's limited edition lah.
when you stab "hard gay" with the pirate swords, he'll make noises that's abit hair raising.

haha you gotta play it to know man.

sano was actually nuts enough to buy it!

"HOOOOOO!"

saw this on my colleague's table.
limited edition as well.
damn cute right?

Retro Kitchen Top

25 September 2006

And so I've designed another blogskin background for my personal blog.
Center page and codes are taken from another blogskin template creator who's original work was just as good.

Decided to make something retro resembling a cosy kitchen's table top.

xxx

and so i was parading around level two with my almost completed knitted beaded amulet pouch.

now i'm left with the flap but i ran out of beads so i'm left with no choice but to go back dwn to chinatown to get more beads again.

i tried checkin out the newly opened beads store just next to tampines mrt station but... well, they have very little selection, colours not very great, no sizes to choose from and sells at a price unreasonable compared to the amount allocated for each packet. it's almost like a 10% of what i can get for the same price (perhaps fifty cents more) from chinatown.

bah.

chinatown will be good since we can get to eat dumplings again from the hawker hurhur.

xxx

and we saw this adorable little one from renci.
tempted to adopt it but we can't.
*sigh*

just look at those EYES!

it's GREY! and ROUND!

so if u love cats and think u can really give this lil one a good home, plus it's really pretty affectionate and not agressive or overactive but active + curious enough...

let me know.

i'll bring u to where it is.

but first and foremost, THINK whether u really want it first.
you need to incur expenses already before even having it cos you probably need to deworm it, sterilize it, and give it some shots etc cos it's quite young and stray.

i was immed sent to go wash mi feet and blood off and mom applied yellow solution to me toe and made a turban out of it.

mom: "what happen? why like that?"

me: "ah wai kick me"

mom: "huh? wad kick u?"

me: "ah wai kicked me"

Notice how I now blog in a narrative mode of what goes on in my life in a post format?

means only after incidents happened and gone w/o inclusion of in-depth thoughts like i would've blogged few years back? somehow maybe all the thoughts comes and goes quickly while at work i didn't have the luxury of time to blog in the 'right here right now' way.

till the end of the day, i forget most of the things already.

sometimes looking at the comments left behind or at least checkin if there's any,
i wonder who's reading my blog and how often do they bother to check about me.

for me? everyday i read through all my friend's blogs.

somehow it's weird. like experiences differs even in the same workin environment.
in the past i thought my previous stint in a particular MNC is a good position that can be for good. now i'm thankful i wasnt given a full time position there. somehow it feels very much like being stuck in the mud. no progression. a place where ten years flies by so quickly and you see yourself being surrounded by ur kids and a husband and with not much 'interesting' experiences/learning journey to speak of.

asked about work and you can say 'oh it's fine' but nothing in particular to share about.

though my current job is more hectic, but actually things are much more peaceful now that i found a pace and is more familiar with work procedures, it's fun. it revolves around what i like and my position helps promote what i like so it's fine. it provides me motivation to do what i do with more zest and responsibility to the better of the organization.

i play a small role for now yes, but i don't believe it's not important.

i'm a devil's advocate of my belief. i don't impose it unto others but i do mention it to others alot.

what i believe? the smaller role u r the more vital u r. u form the basic of the chain where a mistake frm u will ripple thro the chain and when foundations are weak/wrong, all else will not be right.

some believes the small things are not worth paying attention. solving the big ones are.

if u're incapable of even solving a minor issue, how to entrust u in solving the big one without repercussions?

gu came home from work full of grumbles.
it's been 2 days in a row already.
"tai chi" is a common practice everywhere now i suppose.

somehow his experience at work differs from me. perhaps it's just due to how others react with the way he work and i worked or our personalities or even our gender.

what does one expect when entering the working life? when having to interact with your colleagues whether frm the same dept or other depts, what do you expect? what seems to be friendliness, dare you think of it as friendship? when they smile at u, is there a hidden agenda? do u trust 100% someone frm work and dare to let known everything about you? how to sift through and know who are the ones you can allow into your inner circle and who are the ones that could only remain at the doorstep but still maintain friendliness?

first and foremost, to think u can enter a company and not expect backstabbers or gossipers, u're an idiot. but to be overly defensive and looking at everyone with a single spectacle of thoughts, that's not right either.

then how?

i know i can observe ppl easily thro their body language, they way they talk, they way the answer me. it could be via one sms or anything at all. then i gather information to know whether on wad level and wad things i can trust u on. trust has many levels. from alot to very little and also the WHAT factor. you can trust a person to do a good job but you may not trust him to cover ur ass if u make a mistake. that sorta things. i tend to be very open in welcoming ppl but once i catch a hint of something that's not wad it seems on the surface about that person, i draw back a step to observe more. that's just to reconfirm my observation. and when it's confirmed, well, no need to be disappointed. just take a step back. what's there to take to heart? only yourself to blame for not being observant enough since there's so many types of people out there in the world. i guess everyone has to find a way to protect themselves or rather to either make use of their strengths or to learn ways to protect themselves. being observant may be inborn or accquired via learning.

i noticed something different about me. i can pinpoint the difference but i'm not sure if my explaination for it is really wad it is. i feel a bit numb. in the past, i do trust ppl alot. almost v naively believing my 'friends'. disappointments was felt at its fullest when things turned sour between friendships whether mine or btwn my friends. over the years after having settled down on knowing who are truly my friends for life and their behaviour pattern, disappointments are lessened as you grow more accustomed to it and for new ppl entering into our lifes, i don't place alot of hope on them actually. i just let it flow and if it's fated for me n u to go far, it will. i guess since i thought alot about random topics in the past i sorta exhausted certain topics to think more lol. then nowadays brain already settled down with answers so less 'active' in search for more. welcoming new info but i guess i know what i already know.

i learnt a new thing at work tho. it's from a one-off comment frm my lady superior actually. think she mentioned it during the first month of my work here.

"ask questions effectively"

i guess it's damn impt. for life or my job. the way she told me about it was in a more or less negligent manner but i kept it in mind all these while. it forms almost the basic of everything i do at work now since i get lotsa job request frm other dept. franky u can't expect other dept to understand ur procedures for ur dept or ur position. u have to tell them. seriously. so it's up to u to post all the queries u can think of to them that's relevant in narrowing down to a clear cut instruction of wad they want, how they want it, when they want it etc.

then my colleague, a fellow coordinator, taught me something else. protecting ur boundaries. know ur job scope and do what's required of you and not otherwise. not saying favours is out of the question but when a firm line needs to be drawn, u have to draw it. when it's not in ur position to do this favour while another dept is actually more appropriate, and i guess i obviously knew once i relent the fellah will keep coming back to me and i'll be damn busy doin things that's not mine to care, i'll drop an 'official' email suggesting the fella to approach the other dept cos more appropriate etc. lol my fellow cooridinator is a very straightforward person with a very candid personality. much as she can be abit blunt and abrasive at times (not to me tho hurhur), she did offend quite a number of ppl. the way i do things differs greatly frm her and based on ur observation, i'm very composed. even when there's urgency and frustration, i don't seem flustered at all. i guess i am all shocked absorbed lol so when i stoning they think i composed hahaha anyhow i like her as a person and allowed her into my inner circle and talks to her alot.

on a separate topic, i'm happy that sano's happy lol

i'm happy that he is cheering up FINALLY after like what? 1.5 years ++++++++!?

lol nonetheless i'm happy lah cos his my best buddy ever and it's not a one-sided wish but mutually felt connection.

"you're always the first to know"

muahahaha i guess i take pride in knowing that line.

*winks @ susu*

oh yea, did i mention that sano is now a full-time baby sitter?

lol now he has to buy pampers and be trottled over by two toddlers at home.

shaufi'e has a new baby brother!!! name is shauki. heh. damn cute babeh!!!

too bad didn't get to see new babeh yet. last time i carried shaufi'e was ages ago. now the kiddo grown up alot. haiz.

Quoting from a text I read frm Mark's blog.

albeit the length of your relationship may be nine years, but the passion and spirit worth in this relationship probably amounts to only two years?
what's important is the QUALITY not the quantity.

If beating time to achieve the 'distance' is challenging but comes with a void with nothing to fulfil... then what is the fight for?

a month's bonding between a successful couple may even surpass that of a couple that's been together for a year.

we had beach road prawn mee with mom yday.

today woke up late and so mom left the house w/o us. so as usual we spent our sundays eating from roxy's wanton mee stall.

don't understand why sunshine plaza's wanton mee stall has so many ppl. i think roxy ones tastes alot better. roxy's wanton mee has very good business and usually closes ard 3pm or so. think uncle has eye infection nowadays cos wearing huge sunglasses. looks abit MIB. quite funny.

we passed by siglap yesterday actually. forgot to blog abt it.

passed by it cos we took a bus from my hse to gu's hse to get the fish tank.

there's actually alot of food there for us to try. somehow i tend to register there as a place with little to eat. tsk. shall go there more often.

wilson's gettin short sighted. thanks to discovery and their database software.

my four eyed gu

at least he's better than me lah. his short sightedness not very serious. can take off and still be able to walk around. take my spectacles away from me and i'm as blind as a bat.

aiyaaaaaaar...

couple of days back i tried styling my hair. forgot to post pic. ceh.

after roxy right we went to walk ard in parkway parade since it's raining.

went pet shop to take a look and saw a seriously tiny hamster.

then there was a CORGI!

a super skinny golden retreiver, 2 x silky terriers and a white german shepherd.

the cutest of all was a baby "pomXpek"

think is mixed breed of somesort. pomeranian + pekinese? it's damn cute and sleeping and while all the other dogs were making a hell lot of noise and jumping about shaking the cage crazily.. the pup sleeps on. amazing.

spotted dry cat chow sold at 40cents a tiny packet and bought one.

since we're headin to renci and there's alot of hungry cats as well as newborn kittens, we intend to feed them a little bit.

see this cute fellah below?
couple of weeks ago it was still very weak. very adorable. couple of weeks ago it wasnt scared of us and in fact it'll keep charging towards us mewing but now i guess the older cats 'taught' them better to stay away from humans so upon seeing us approaching it, it darted under an old chair. no either where it's sibling went.

once i caught it's attention and have it eyeing my hand, i shook the packet of cat chow to show it and then pour it onto the ground and slowly walked a good distance away.

when it felt safe it got out and started eating. heh

stinky aka baibai has this horrible bad habit. to pee in the tunnel and to SLEEP on it.
which gets it all wet and stinky. then it'll start losing hair cos it's so unhygenic.

i have to bathe it so many times. ceh.

then it falls asleep on the wheel at times and you'll see some evidence of hair loss.

Stinky on left: just woke up
Stinky on right: looking out with blur look and wet fur (frm pee)

when we got home from bugis on sunday, we started washing babies' cage and transfering them to the fish tank.

actually the tank quite heavy.

the stinky babies went absolutely wild in their new home.

a vid to entertain u guys on how hyper the stinky babies were.

so tired...

a korean shop in roxy square is moving out and so there's warehouse sale where everything is being sold super cheap.

mom bought this hook and box for fifty cents each! whoa!

she say the shop owner hung her accessories like the picture below as well so she hung my earrings when she got home in the exact same manner.

kinda cute actually.

all dangling like that. esp usefull for looped earrings when i can hook them unto my display set.

then i don't know for how much she bought this rather pretty flower moulded candles.
they come in different shades and are scented too. very pretty.

couple of days back i remembered mentioning about having new curtains made for my room and so mom ordered us to start shifting our stuff into my dad's room

to clear way for the curtain maker to do his job.

so my entire room got emptied.

EMPTIED.

what was left was my bed.

i can even hear my echo.

and then we went to take a peek into my dad's room.

Heaps of stuff

My DVD is finally here. a colleague commented that it's expensive. opps.

the woman over the counter charged me wrongly lor!

i used nets to pay. for a moment of folly, i forgot to take a look at the machine before keying in my PIN. end up realised she billed me over a hundred bucks! god gracious! my item cost probably only 35% of wad i was billed for lo...

heng i noticed then alerted her.

she didn't know how to void the transaction so she refunded me the rest of the money with cash.
tsk.

At night after our hectic errand on a normal saturday... (rushing all over the place, visiting, fix bike, gu's tuition, dinner, pick up DVD..) we finally reached home and have time to rest.

Just as we were warming up out seats, we started off to our next errand.

Going gu's house.

it was around 8+PM at that time.

supposed to go pick up gu's old fish tank (plastic) for our stinky babies' new home!

it's kinda big actually. nearly twice the size of our babies' cage.

letting heizai get a 'feel' of the place

now our hamster has a great deal of space to run around.

a glimpse of how tongshui cafe looks like @ zion road.
just only realised they have outlets in bugis area.
not all their dishes on the menu r gd but at least i liked their minced beef baked rice.

watched finish a super old movie where leung kar fai and ling qing xia was still in their twenties.

tragedy. somehow the trend for movies during those times.

Celebrating dad's birthday, I initially wanted to bring my folks over to eat at Newton Circus but since mom say she wanna go try the food at Lavender at a particular XXX stall (didn't catch the name), well i thought so be it.

and so we trot dwn to lavender only to find ourselves seriously disgusted with what's there. lavender foodcourt now is so unlike lavendar food court then. quality of the food served has gone down big time.. or at least for the stuff we tried. at least the chicken wings were fine but frm the chinese stall which we bought stingray and kang kong and etc... i have endless grumbles and complaints man.

FIRSTLY, the stupid stingray taste like crap. hardly any chilli and wasn't well cooked. and more importantly, it reminds me of my stupid decision of not having gone newton circus cos the stingray there was a 100x tastier!

SECONDLY,the kangkong also not good.

zut zut not too bad but wasn't spicy enough. taste wise.. ok lah. wilson's first time trying it and ate quite a few. surprisingly - cos some ppl who've avoided eating it. it's those conical shell slugs yea.

THIRDLY, the stupid man bring our dishes to us has very bad service. my mom wants to smack him lol quite funny. he asked for payment before bringing all the dishes to us. wah lau.

then my dad could not resist temptations and bought chicken rice.

my dad used to sell chicken rice and very good one too. it's not the typical kind you find everywhere else yea and too bad he hurt his back so he can't sell it anymore. good thing tho bcos somehow, it lessened the conflict between my parents because of the stall and politics of the hawker center. auntie uncle gossips are very horrid. they tear families apart.

the chicken rice my dad bought sucked.

boned was sorta grey. means not entirely well cooked. then dad started complaining. he drank stout that night and so was a lil more relaxed. then jokingly asked me this question.

"where in singapore sells the best chicken rice you know?"

then there were like 3 mins of silence. then i look at him. wilson too.

"LIM LAO PEI'S STALL LA!" (UR DAD'S STALL LA!)

then he smacked my head.

lol.. crazy dad. but quite funny lah.

actually... just across the street there's this shop sellin pig organ soup.
ate there once cos wilson brought me. i kinda forgot about it.
but now that i'm reminded of it, i remember it tasted pretty good!
stupid of me having not suggested coming here instead.

it's just across the road frm lavendar foodcourt.

XXXXXX

i came home to see this mega lighter my mom used to light the joss sticks.

lol

v exaggerating can.
